Hey there everyone, my name is Jorge and I am a self-proclaimed cinephile. As such this blog will consist mostly of movie reviews, movie viewing stories, favorite directors, clips and all that good stuff. This picture is of me and some friends on my high schools "men in black" day and i am on the very left, looking very confused. At the very bottom of this page there are a few links, the second one from the left has a must-see discussion of dogs from the movie "snatch", directed by Guy Ritchie.

The godfather
So if you have never seen Francis Ford Coppola's The Godfather and you go to NIU stop by my room as soon as humanly possible and watch it because it is the prime example of classic Hollywood. The film is the embodiment of a fallen hero and of the American dream. It is the movie that single-handedly launched Al Pacino's acting career, so yea, this movie is a big deal. I was watching it with my sister's boyfriend who is a much bigger cinephile than I am and I realized that when you watch movies with someone that enjoys movies as much as you, someone that can call out scenes that don't feature the original actors for instance, the movie experience is so much more enjoyable. So go watch The Godfather or else....http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZtyvlzVm7Y.

I've seen bits and pieces but have been too intimidated by 3 very long movies. I am a sucker for mafia movies and I guess I'm still an amature if I haven't seen the crowning jewel.
ReplyDeleteI have never seen it either. I have it at home, but just have never gotten around to actually watching it. I guess I'll have to see it then, if it's such a "big deal".
ReplyDeletep.s. i fed your fish for you.
